10 More Bullets Two-Player Mode: Keys, Modes and How to Win
Published · 2 min read
Most people come to 10 More Bullets for the one-player arcade mode, but the menu has a second button: 2 Players. It turns a patient, score-chasing game into a fast duel on one keyboard, and it is one of the best two-player games you can open on a school Chromebook in a few seconds. Here is how it works.
Setting it up
On the first screen choose Keyboard (or Tap Screen on a phone or tablet), then press 2 Players on the menu. Player one fires with X, player two with K. The keys sit at opposite ends of the keyboard, so two people can sit side by side without bumping hands. On a touch screen the game splits the screen instead: the left player taps the left half, the right player the right half.
The four modes
Two-player has four modes, and they play very differently:
- Classic — "as usual", in the game's words: both players shoot at the same sky with the normal flow of ships.
- Famine sends very few ships, so a wasted bullet hurts and waiting for a pair to line up is everything.
- Turbo is ten seconds with lots of ships. There is no time to wait; fire into the crowd and fire again.
- One Bullet gives each player a single shot. Whoever reads the sky better wins, and a round lasts seconds.
One Bullet is the best mode to start with, because it teaches both players what the game is really about: choosing the moment. When the result screen shows PLAYER 1 WINS or PLAYER 2 WINS, it rarely comes down to speed.
Freeze your opponent
One of the game's seven boosters only really makes sense with two people at the keyboard: freeze opponent. As the name says, it puts the other player on ice for a moment. Used at the right time — just as a thick row drifts over the towers — it lets you take the best shot of the round while your opponent watches.
What carries over from single player
The core rules are the same. A hit ship explodes, the explosion destroys the ships next to it, and a well-timed bullet into a crowd starts a chain that can clear half the sky. Missed shots are wasted. The skills you learn in Arcade Mode — waiting for rows to overlap, firing into the densest part, not shooting on reflex — are exactly the skills that win duels.
Arcade Mode, in short
If you have not played the one-player mode yet, it adds everything the duel leaves out: a shop with four upgrade cards (Max Combo, Boosters, Grabbers and Special Waves), gold that ships drop and your grabber collects, special waves in line, zig-zag and cross shapes, and a best score saved in your browser. Our tips guide covers it shot by shot.
More games for two
When you want a change, the shooting shelf has Rooftop Snipers 2, another one-button duel for two players on one keyboard, and the rest of the catalogue has plenty of sports and arcade games that play the same way. But few of them are as quick to learn — or as hard to stop — as ten bullets and a sky full of ships.
